Bunbury stretched their winning streak to 12 matches on Saturday with a 46-point win over Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault at PC Payne Park in round 15.

The 14.11 (95) to 6.13 (49) win for Bunbury showed their continued dominant run since round one of the South West Football League.

The Lions made a strong early statement after Bunbury opened the scoring through Aidan Clarke inside the first minute.

HBL quickly responded with goals from Jack Fletcher and Jesse Crichton to take the lead, and stayed competitive through the opening term before Bunbury edged ahead at quarter-time.

From there the Bulldogs lifted their intensity and controlled the contest. A strong second quarter saw them kick four goals to one, opening up a 25-point buffer at half-time.

Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault battled hard after the break but struggled to break through Bunbury’s defensive pressure as the visitors added three unanswered goals in the third term to take full control.

The Lions finished with a few late goals, but Bunbury’s class and composure ensured the result was never in doubt as they continued their unbeaten run since round one.

Carey Park moved into fifth place on the South West Football League ladder with a 35-point win over Collie at the Collie Recreation Ground on Saturday.

The Panthers set up the result in a dominant opening quarter, kicking six goals to one as their clean ball movement and pressure around the contest proved too much for the home side to win 11.17 (83) to 7.6 (48).

After quarter-time, Collie was more competitive, but Carey Park still controlled the game and maintained its advantage throughout the afternoon.

The Panthers had chances to blow the margin out further in the final term but were inaccurate in front of goal as Harry Jones finished with four goals in another strong display while Brian Hughes kicked three.

Dunsborough claimed a 60-point win over Eaton in wet and testing conditions at Glen Huon Reserve on Sunday, 13.9 (87) to 4.3 (27).

Eaton made the early impact, with Kade O’Dine kicking the opening goal inside the first minute, but Dunsborough soon worked into the contest and began controlling possession.

Mick Sherry and Mack Candy both hit the scoreboard as the Sharks edged in front during an entertaining opening term.

The second quarter became a grinding affair in heavy conditions, with scoring limited as both sides struggled for clean ball movement.

Dunsborough still managed to edge further ahead, taking a 20-point lead into half-time.

Any hopes of an Eaton comeback faded after the break, with the Sharks dominating the third quarter by kicking six goals to one.

Darcy Miller was influential with two majors in the term as Dunsborough took full control of the match.

From there the Sharks managed the conditions better to secure a strong victory and record their third win of the season.

Donnybrook handled torrential rain and a heavy Harvey Oval surface to record a strong win over the Bulls, 12.11 (83) to 0.1 (1).

The Bulls kicked the opening score, but Donnybrook debutant Corbyn Knox kicked the first goal as the visitors gradually took control. Donnybrook adjusted better, with Kristian Cary leading the way up forward.

Cary finished with four goals, including two before quarter-time as the Dons built an early buffer and extended it to 52 points by half-time.

The second half became a stoppage-heavy grind as scoring dried up in the worsening conditions. The only goal after the main break came in the final term through Ben Howlett, who soccered one through at close range.

Donnybrook’s cleaner handling and early scoreboard impact proved decisive in the wet.
