Independent Retirees

Partly and fully self-funded retirees are invited to join the Independent Retirees for a meeting at the St Augustine Church hall today. The guest speaker will be Dianne Pope from the Cancer Council. Members of the public are also welcome. For more information, phone Cheryl on 9725 9389.

Riding for the Disabled

Riding for the Disabled WA South West Centre are in search of volunteers with an induction day taking place today starting at 8.45am. Volunteers will enable people with disabilities to experience enjoyment, challenge and a sense of achievement through their participation in equestrian activities. Mah-Jong Month

The Bunbury Women’s Club are holding beginners classes for women wanting to learn Mah-Jong on Thursday at 1pm. The classes will run every Thursday for the month of March. For more information, phone Naomi on 9721 2177 or Linda on 0404 380 092.

World Day of Prayer

The Inter-church World Day of Prayer service will be held in the Salvation Army Citadel on Friday at 1.30pm. This is an inter-denominational service where various church representatives will take part. All are welcome and an afternoon tea will be served.

The City of Bunbury Life Saving Club’s “Old Boys” will be presenting this year’s 35th Barrett Bunbury Swim Thru on Saturday at 3pm. The 1.6km swim will start from and finish at the Bunbury Rowing Club with registration from 1.30pm to 2.30pm. The entry fee is $30 when booked ahead, including a barbeque meal, or $35 on the day. Driving course

A one day, Young Driver Development Course will take place at the YDDP facility on March 11. The course is suitable for learners and pre-learners aged 15 and over. Participants will learn to emergency brake to avoid an accident, safely negotiate gravel interface, how to handle over and under steer and more. International Women’s Day Breakfast

Tickets are now available for the 2017 Zonta breakfast at the Sanctuary Golf Resort on March 12 at 8.30am. Purchase a table of 10 or individual tickets for $35 per person available from La Femme in Bunbury City Plaza Shopping Centre. SWAS-Telstra Fun Run and Relay

The SWAS-Telstra Fun Run and Relay will take place around the Leschenault Inlet in Bunbury on March 18. The first 100 to sign up for the run will receive a free singlet. Begonia Exhibition

The Donnybrook Branch of the Begonia Society of Western Australia is hosting a Begonia Exhibition at the Donnybrook Masonic Hall on March 18 from 9am to 2pm. There will be a display of beautiful begonias in their great variety and a morning tea.

Dardanup Art Spectacular

Red Cross volunteers

Australian Red Cross is seeking volunteers to help with the Community Visitors Scheme. Trained volunteers will be matched with an isolated elderly person living in the community or an aged care facility to make a regular social visit. Bunbury Wollaston Lions

The Bunbury Wollaston Lions invite all members of the public to join their bi-monthly meetings at the Highway Hotel. The social and service group meet at 7pm on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month and is always happy to have new members join.
