Brookdale: Firefighters respond to bushfire in suburbia, south of Perth

Firefighters doused a bushfire south of Perth on Wednesday night after multiple properties were under threat.

Emergency services were called to a bushfire that sparked in the vicinity of Wedgetail Court and Chadwick Parade in Brookdale around 9.30pm.

By 10.30pm the blaze was contained and controlled.

People bounded by Tijuana Road, Farmer Avenue, Chadwick Parade and Wedgetail Court in Brookdale were urged to be cautious of extra smoke in the area.

A police spokesman confirmed officers were also at the scene, assisting emergency services.

Firefighters from Cockburn, Armadale and Welshpool were dispatched to the blaze.

It comes as firefighters respond to a separate blaze in Mount Nasura, near Brookton Highway.
