Virginia Giuffre: Court battle over Epstein’s most vocal sex trafficking survivor’s estate inches forward

The legal battle over Virginia Giuffre’s estate has inched forward, with a court still determining how her estranged husband and daughter will be added as claimants. The most vocal survivor of notorious billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein took her own life in April last year at her hobby farm near Neergabby, 20km north of Perth. The 41-year-old died without a will and left behind two sons, 19-year-old Christian and 18-year-old Noah, and a daughter who is a minor. The brothers applied to be appointed administrators of the estate in Supreme Court of WA proceedings launched last year. But their mother’s former barrister Karrie Louden, and her former carer and housekeeper Cheryl Myers, are challenging that. Ms Louden and Ms Myers claim Ms Giuffre had “created an informal will in writing” which outlined her wishes. They say they should be the administrators instead of Ms Giuffre’s sons. At a brief hearing on Friday, discussions continued on how to join Ms Giuffre’s estranged husband Robert Giuffre and the daughter to the brother’s efforts to fend off Ms Louden and Ms Myers. Litigator Craig Hollett — acting for Ms Louden and Ms Myers — confirmed to reporters outside court that Robert Giuffre was a primary beneficiary. “It is important that all necessary parties are joined, so that they have the opportunity to be heard, to ventilate any issues, and so that the court can make a decision which represents all of the parties interests,” Mr Hollett said. Registrar Danielle Davies said she thought Robert Giuffre should be joined with the boys’ application and suggested it should be done by a Supreme Court judge or master. Mr Hollett suggested the Public Trustee could act as a guardian for the girl in the matter, to avoid a conflict of interest. “They would engage solicitors to act on behalf of the minor, and then they would look after her interests in the proceedings,” he said. A further case management hearing before Registrar Davies was scheduled for May 1. Under WA laws for intestate estates, a surviving spouse or de facto partner — where there are also surviving children — is entitled to the first $546,000. The size of what was left of Ms Giuffre’s estate is yet to be revealed after she amassed a fortune in victim’s compensation claims and civil lawsuit settlements. That included a rumoured $22 million from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The payments were over her allegations that as a teenager, she was sex trafficked by the late New York financier Epstein to his wealthy friends, including the disgraced former prince. He accepted no liability and has always rejected her claims. Sad details of her final months were revealed when Robert Giuffre was fined $500 in Joondalup Courthouse on February 19 last year on a single charge of failing to properly store firearms. His defence counsel told the court that the couple were separating and there was “a lot of anxiety and, I guess, some hostility” but “the firearms charge has nothing to do with the situation”. Ms Guiffre faced one count of breaching a family violence restraining order on February 2, 2025 but she died before entering a plea. It was alleged she committed the offence in Ocean Reef, where she moved from Cairns in 2020, buying a $1.9m, six-bedroom, four-bathroom sea-front property.
