Five people — including a 13-year-old boy — have been charged over a brutal alleged bashing of a Perth father on a Transperth bus on Monday.

Police say the group boarded a bus on Abernethy Road just after 3pm and were drinking alcohol and acting in a disorderly manner.

The man, who was accompanied by his partner and child, was then allegedly set upon and assaulted in the stairwell of the bus.
