Atwell: Police investigate apartment fire with ‘undetermined’ cause on Flourish Loop

Police are investigating after an apartment went up in flames in Perth’s south.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports a third storey apartment, located on Flourish Loop, in Atwell, was fully engulfed in flames about 7.40am on Sunday.

The blaze — which was controlled by about 8.40am — was contained to just one unit and fought by about 14 firefighting crews.

Everyone in the apartment was evacuated and accounted for.

St John WA conveyed one man to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

Fire investigating officers deemed the cause of the blaze to be “undetermined”.

“The investigation is ongoing,” a police spokesperson said.
