Firefighters have rushed to the scene of an out-of-control house fire in Serpentine.
Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at the semi-rural property on McKay Drive just after noon on Tuesday.
At least ten fire crews were sent to the scene, but just 30 minutes after emergency services were first alerted, the house was fully engulfed in flames.
The fire is still not under control and locals are being told to remain indoors with doors and windows closed, and to avoid the area, due to thick, potentially dangerous smoke drifting towards South Western Highway.
Police attended the scene but no ambulances were called. At this stage, there are no reports of injuries.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
