Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault beat Eaton Boomers to claim third win of the season in low-scoring clash

Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault women have beaten the Eaton Boomers by one point to claim their third win of the season. A strong southerly wind made scoring tough as neither side was able to convert a major. The Lions held strong in defence as they ran out winners 0.5 (5) 0.4 (4). There was heartbreak for the Boomers as ruck Alyssa Cotterell’s set shot fell agonisingly short with less than five minutes left to play. Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault coach Anthony Edwards said the run home would not be easy because they faced three of the top five sides to finish the season. “The effort we can put in against those two really good teams is important,” he said. “It has been a long season ... but there are smiles on their faces (today) and that’s what it’s all about.”
