A Harvey house in Uduc Road has been destroyed by a fire that began last night.

Fire crews had only left the site about an hour earlier, when heat pockets in the house reignited and burned down the remaining rooms by about lunchtime.

The three adult occupants of the house and their pets escaped the blaze without injury.

The fire began in a bedroom sometime after 11pm on Wednesday.

One of the occupants, who had been in the lounge room, got up to go to the bathroom when he heard a noise coming from a bedroom.

He opened the door and found the room was engulfed in flames.

The smoke set off an alarm and woke the two other occupants of the house.

Fire crews from Brunswick, Harvey Hills, Uduc, and Waroona worked together to extinguish the initial blaze on Wednesday night.

Harvey, Brunswick and Bunbury brigades arrived earlier today to bring the fire under control.
