That two-hour drive home usually means it’s Christmas, a uni break or I just miss the beach.
However this time I knew my move was a little more indefinite, having just finished my degree, I was excited to see what doors all this debt had opened.
I had hoped to return to the South Western Times newsroom after doing some work experience there during high school, and now I find myself sitting opposite the same desk I sat at some seven years ago.
Growing up in Bunbury meant that I visited Harvey regularly, doing the occasional industrial area driving lesson or stopping off at the Partons IGA on a school trip.
I’ve always been interested in the close-knit town and I am excited to start delving deeper into the community.
Journalism is a passion of mine and though this may not be the most lavish form of it, I think there’s a lot to be said for community news.
