Lotto: Fremantle couple in their 60s scoop $2.16m Saturday loot, plan to travel with family, renovate house

A newly renovated house, no more bills and lots of travel are a reality for a Fremantle couple who scooped a massive $2.16 million in Lotto loot.
The life-changing amount has taken a while to sink in after the couple, in their 60s, found out they had won on Sunday.
They bought Saturday’s winning ticket as a spur-of-the-moment decision just before closing time at Phoenix Lotteries in Spearwood.
They then couldn’t believe it as they went through the winning numbers — and ticked them all off.
“We’re still in shock — it only started sinking in when we walked through the doors at Lotterywest HQ,” they said.
Lotterywest spokesperson Emma Rogers said it was exciting to welcome another winner to the Lotterywest Winners’ Room in September.
“It’s been a huge month for WA winners — one Powerball player won $20 million, another player took home $7.5 million in OZ Lotto and three Saturday Lotto winners have shared $6.32 million,” she said.
“We’re hoping this winning streak carries through into October.”
