Homicide detectives are unravelling a suspected murder scene south of Perth where two bodies were found dead.

A 47 year-old man has been taken into custody.

Police are yet to reveal the age and gender of the bodies who were found at a property in Capel, near Busselton, in the southwest of Western Australia shortly after 8am on Friday.

The 47-year-old reportedly suffered injuries of his own and was assisting officers with the investigation.

The tragedy is the second to descend on the region in a matter of weeks following the suspected murder of Tony Ditri, 40, who was found in the town of Pemberton in late August.

Superintendent Geoff Stewart said the disturbing deaths in Capel were expected to have a significant impact on the small rural town.

“We have just dealt with another community in the southwest that had a homicide investigation and that community is reeling,” he told reporters.

“This town will be reeling from this, as you say it is a small community.”
