Two 14yo boys charged with holding up Greenwood Kingsley Super Deli with sword, remanded in custody

Two teenage boys have been charged over a terrifying armed robbery at a Greenwood deli where a worker was held up with a large sword. The incident unfolded when one of the teens allegedly entered the Greenwood Kingsley Super Deli on Cockman Road, threatening a staff member with the weapon before fleeing with cash at about 7.45am on Friday. On Saturday, police revealed two 14-year-old boys had been charged over the incident. The first teen, from Rivervale, has been charged with aggravated armed robbery and disorderly behaviour in a police station or lock-up. The second boy, from Mirrabooka, is charged with a count of aggravated armed robbery. Both boys appeared in Perth Children’s Court via video link on Saturday morning and were remanded in custody. They are set to appear in Perth Children’s Court on Tuesday where it is expected they will apply for bail. Shocking CCTV shows the moment a female deli worker was confronted as she stood behind the till making a coffee. Shop owner Billy Tran said his colleague handed over “all the cash” available to her as she stood centimetres away from the blade. “She of course was nervous, very nervous, I feel sorry for her,” he said. Police allege that as one of the teens held up the deli, the other waited outside before they both fled the scene on an e-scooter.
