Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, have shared their joy after welcoming their third child, a baby girl, into the world.

Buckingham Palace announced the baby was born on August 3 at 6.20pm in Lisbon, Portugal, weighing 6lb 9oz, (2.98kg) adding that both mother and baby were doing well.

“Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter,” the palace said in a statement.

“Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news.”

The princess later shared the heartwarming news with her 1.8 million Instagram followers, posting the first photo of the newborn swaddled in a pink outfit and wearing a white patterned beanie.

“Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!!,” Eugenie wrote in a caption accompanying the sweet snap.

“We are beyond in love with our girlie.”

The newest addition to the family is the youngest sister to the royal couple’s sons, August, 5, and Ernest, 3. The pair are yet to publicly reveal their daughter’s name.

Princess Eugenie, the daughter of disgraced former prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, first revealed her pregnancy in May.

In an Instagram announcement, the princess said at the time “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!” next to a photo of August and Ernest holding an ultrasound image.

Buckingham Palace also shared a statement following Eugenie’s pregnancy announcement.

“Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer,” the palace said at the time.

“August and Ernest are also very excited to have another sibling join the family.”
