Perth Bikies: Rebels boss Jason Anthony Dixon admits to string of drug offences

The Rebels bikie gang’s leadership is again on the wrong side of the law with the acting State president admitting to possessing methamphetamine and an assortment of steroids and prescription drugs. Jason Anthony Dixon, 47, appeared in Bunbury Magistrates Court this week via video link from Bunbury Regional Prison where he pleaded guilty to possessing meth with intent to sell or supply, six counts of possession of a prohibited drug, and five counts of the unlawful possession of a controlled or prescription drug. The gang crime squad searched his Australind home on May 16, while Dixon was on bail for a series of other offences. When officers entered the property, Dixon was found in the backyard where he was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs. During the search, police found human growth hormones, methamphetamine and prescription medication without a script. Some of the schedule four poisons included nine tablets of mirtazapine, 14 tablets of urica, 28 tablets of metabolin and unspecificed quantities of deca-durabolin, testoterone enanthate, masturon, somatropin and clindamycin. Dixon has been committed to the District Court on the meth charge, where he will reappear in September for a sentence mention hearing, with the remaining charges remanded until October. He is expected to stay in custody until that time. It is understood Dixon, the former South West president of the Rebels, is now the acting State president after anti-consorting laws prevented former chief Karl Labrook from running the notorious gang. Labrook inherited the leadership after the assassination of veteran boss Nick Martin at Perth Motorplex in December 2020. Dixon’s recent incarceration is likely to have thrown the Rebels’ leadership into further disarray. Last year, Dixon was among the first to be slapped with the State’s firearm prohibition orders, along with other high-ranking bikies including Labrook, Troy Mercanti and Jason Gastarov, as part of WA’s suite of tough anti-bikie laws. Those served with an FPO can no longer possess a firearm or be in the presence of a gun. This includes visiting an address where a firearm is present. Dixon was accused of breaching his FPO when he was arrested late last year.
