Bunbury’s Jayden Goodwin scores second first grade hundred as Big Bash Clubs circle premier cricket ranks

Bunbury batter Jayden Goodwin has blasted a second century for Subiaco-Floreat this season — this time in a limited overs game. The short form ton comes at the perfect time, with Big Bash League clubs circling grade cricketers from across the country in a bid to fill their sides amid the growing number of positive COVID cases. Goodwin’s 112 came off 137 balls at the top of the order for the Lions as part of a 124-run partnership with fellow opener Geremy Fatouros. The 19-year-old powered his side to 4-266 before their opponents Scarborough fell for just 185. Goodwin made his Sheffield Shield debut for Western Australia at the GABBA earlier this season and played the next game against Tasmania in Hobart. He is currently uncontracted for the Big Bash League season, but consistent short form runs could make him an outside chance for a T20 berth for the first time.
