Crosswalks planned to join medical facilities

Kate FieldingBunbury Herald

Spencer Street in Bunbury has been earmarked for three separate pedestrian crosswalks following renewed calls for safer crossing options.

Bunbury City Council was presented with a petition signed by 606 people requesting a crosswalk to link Doctor Foster and Associates with Chemmart Chemist on Spencer Street.

A plan for extra crossings on Spencer Street because of the high number of medical facilities was already included in the council’s Integrated Financial Plan.

An application has been submitted to the Regional Road Group to cover the estimated $135,000 cost.
