Donnybrook to face Harvey Bulls in Harvey after not playing a game in 27 days

Third-placed Donnybrook will face one of their toughest assignments of the season when they travel to play the Bulls in Harvey after not playing a game in 27 days. Due to two byes and the Easter break, the Dons last played a competitive fixture on April 10 when they beat the Eaton Boomers 5.10 (40) to 4.1 (25) in the wet at home. Each round this season has four teams sit out with a bye, with Harvey having their own 29-day lay off before beating Bunbury in round four. Despite the fixturing oddities, the match is touted as the game of the round, with both sides in the top five with two wins apiece. Harvey are in fifth place after beating Bunbury and Eaton, while Donnybrook are in third with wins against Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault and the Boomers. Donnybrook have finished in fifth and one spot out of finals for the past two seasons and will be looking to make the leap this year, while the Bulls are yet to miss finals in their SWFL women’s existence. Last year the ledger was evenly split after Donnybrook took the first meeting 5.6 (36) to 2.13 (25) and Harvey claimed the second 3.2 (20) to 2.3 (15). Bounce down will be at 10.40am at Harvey Rec.
