SWFL 2022: South Bunbury maul Collie Eagles by 91 points

For the second time this year, South Bunbury have mauled the Collie Eagles.

At home at Hands Oval this time around, the ladder-leading Tigers flexed their muscles against the winless Eagles to win 20.10 (130) to 6.3 (39).

But unlike the round three slaughtering when key forward Jordan Strahan kicked 10 goals, the Tigers shared the load, recording nine individual goal kickers in a day out for the red-and-white.

Strahan still managed to have an impact, kicking four goals alongside Ethan Nordahl, while several others chipped in.

South’s captain Kevin Chitty was named best on ground for his clearance work, while Shaun Crane and Jace Cormack — who both kicked two goals — were also in the best for the home side.

Meanwhile, Zac Pilatti, Kayden Pola and Jack Davidson all worked hard for the Eagles, but were unable to make inroads against the superior opposition.

Interestingly, it was Collie who had the ascendancy early, and led 3.1 (19) to 1.0 (6) at the halfway stage of the first term, but things quickly changed.

South Bunbury kicked the last three goals of the first before piling on nine majors in the second to lead 13.2 (80) to 4.1 (25) at half-time.

The scoring was relatively even in the third term, with the Tigers kicking three goals to two to take a 63-point lead into the last.

Collie went scoreless in the last, while Souths kicked another four goals to run away with the 91-point win.
