Perth traffic: Man, woman seriously hurt after car collides with tree in Gosnells

Tonkin Highway southbound has been reopened between Mills Road and Champion Drive in Gosnells following serious crash that shut it down early on Monday.

Major crash investigators attended the scene after a car hit a tree, seriously injuring a man and a woman in their 20s.

The crash happened when a red Toyota Corolla station sedan left Tonkin Highway near Corfield Street in Gosnells about 1.40am on Monday.

The male driver and female passenger were taken to Royal Perth Hospital with injuries including facial lacerations.

DFES crews from Armadale and Maddington attended and freed one person from the car using hydraulic rescue cutters.

Major crash investigation section officers are investigating.
