Carramar deaths: Note found after Mark and Lesley Stillman discovered dead at their Golf Links Drive home

A chilling note left behind by a man found dead alongside his wife has emerged as a key piece of evidence for homicide investigators trying to piece together their suspected murder suicide. Mark Stillman, 64, was found dead alongside his wife Lesley, 67, in their Carramar home, in Perth’s north, on Sunday. The West Australian can reveal a family member of the Stillmans found the note around the same time the couple, who were separated but still living together, were found dead in the Carramar home. It’s understood the note contained words to the effect of: “Won’t get justice, will die with her.” It’s understood the couple died in a murder suicide, with police now officially ruling out the possibility of a third party being involved. It’s unclear exactly where the note was found, bit it’s believed to have been written by Mr Stillman and left behind prior to his death. It’s unknown if the note contained any other words or information. But the note will no doubt form part of the ongoing police investigation into the couple’s deaths. In a brief statement to The West on Thursday, police declined to comment about the note, but confirmed there were no other people involved in the couple’s deaths. “Homicide squad detectives have determined there is no third party involved in this tragic incident and WA Police will prepare a report for the Coroner,” the statement said. Officers rushed to the couple’s Golf Links Drive home on Sunday morning after being called to the house by concerned family members. “Police attended the home about 10.40am on Sunday … and discovered the bodies of a 64-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman who are known to each other,” police statement said in a statement issued on Sunday. “Investigators can assure the community there are no concerns for the general public’s safety.” The West understands Mr Stillman’s daughter called police to the home following concerns for her father’s welfare. Mark and Lesley were married but separated several years ago. They were both still living in the Carramar home up until recently. A resident who lives in the normally quiet street of Golf Links Drive said his wife had spoken with Ms Stillman on Saturday morning – just 24 hours before she was found dead. “We are friends with them . . . my wife went out with Lesley on Wednesday night,” he said. “We spoke to Lesley on Saturday morning, she was bouncy, she was going off to Pilates with her friends and that’s the last we saw them. “I think it will hit home in a few days’ time.” Ms Stillman was pictured holidaying in Asia during March — with the 67-year-old sharing her travels throughout Cambodia and Thailand on Instagram. Her LinkedIn profile lists her as working for Guide Dogs WA as a boarder, while also volunteering with Amana Living to support people with terminal illnesses. Both Mr Stillman and Ms Stillman were originally from Britain. It is believed they had four children between them. Dozens of police officers were seen carrying out door-to-door inquiries in Carramar on Sunday in an effort to speak to any potential witnesses. On Monday, one resident said detectives had asked them for a weeks’ worth of CCTV. Another nearby neighbour said she heard nothing except police cars driving down the street. “Most of the people that live in this street are elderly.
