Fremantle got off to a false start last year against Geelong. Can they find some redemption and lay down an early marker to show they are serious contenders this year?

After Mannagh ignited the Cats the Dockers regained control until Cameron clawed the Cats back.

It’s the highest ever first half score under Justin Longmuir’s reign as coach which will please fans.
No real stats standout for the Dockers with an even peformance but Josh Treacy’s hands have been like glue once again.
Dudley has been lively up forward while Luke Jackson is dominating in the middle.
But Cats will feel they have at least grabbed some momentum heading into the second half.

Dempsey edges his one-on-one with Erasmus and Miers cleans up to hit Cameron.
He snaps through his third to keep the Cats just about in touch.

Patrick Dangerfield did not have a single stat until taking a nice contested mark.
He handballs off to Cameron running through as he dribbles through a second.

Treacy gets one from the goal square
Cats defenders fall asleep and get sucked towards the ball leaving Josh Treacy all alone in the goal square to kcik the easiest of goals.
After a quick start from the Cats the Dockers are back in control.

Dudley and Reid respond.
Pat Voss maybe a touch lucky not to be called holding the ball. Dudley is lively again to grab the crumb and snap his second.
Murphy Reid then has a lovely finish on the run from 45m as Dudley just gets a deft touch to keep the ball alive.
Mannagh has three!
Mitch Edwards is starting to grow into this game winning a free form the centre clearance.
The Dockers repel the initial attack by Miers has it at half-forward and has great vision to find hot handed Mannagh who has a third goal inside seven minutes.
Mannagh has another
Stoppage just inside the Cats’ attacking 50 and Corey Wagner is pinged for holding the ball after bobbling it.
From outside Mannagh opens up the angle and boots through his second if the term.

Mannagh gets one back
Out of the centre clearance and Bailey Smith helps clean up at half forward to handball to Mannagh who sidesteps the defender and gives the Cats a perfect start to the second quarter.

Jason Dunstall says it’s a stunning first quarter from Fremantle and it’s hard to disagree.
Eight goals, seven different goal kickers going at 81 per cent inside 50.
They’re dominating at stoppage, winning clearances 16-10 while the Cats have comitted 19 turnovers.
Luke Jackson with four clearances and a goal and Hayden Young has seven touches.
