AFL: West Coast have claimed back-to-back wins and broken an Adelaide Oval hoodoo in the process.

History was not on their side as they attempted to back up a stirring win over North Melbourne with their first victory in South Australia since 2021, with teams from the west having a long history of struggling to adjust to earlier away games.

Meanwhile, the Power were looking to continue their momentum from a big win over Essendon last week and handed former Fremantle on-baller Will Brodie a club debut.

And it all came down to the final minutes.

Here’s Mitchell Woodcock’s full match report!

The moment

The Power looked to have a head of steam up in the dying moments.

But check the vice-like grip that stopped them cold!

Happy away rooms

The West Coast rooms are abuzz and the celebrations as the players went down the race were clear.

It’s a big win for the young side who are now 2-1.

Who would have thought both West Coast and North Melbourne would start the year with more wins then losses?

The Eagles have won back-to-back games in an absolute thriller!

It’s their first win at Adelaide Oval since 2021!

Harley Reid took the team on his back in the last quarter but it was a huge mark in defence from Jobe Shanahan that saved the game for the visitors.

Kelly was huge and led the Eagles ball winners as well as having seven clearances.

One point in it

Whitlock gets a clean run and jump as Port switch the ball around and gets a strong mark.

He pops through a third and the Eagles’ lead is one point with 1:48 on the clock.

Jones!

Duff-Tytler hit the post at one end and the defender Lachie Jones pops up at the other and boots just his 8th career goal in 76 outings.

The margin is seven with four minutes left.
