SPORT: As the 2026 Commonwealth Games draw hit the finishing straight, there are still plenty of medals up for grabs as Australia looks to add to its mighty medal haul in Glasgow.
Peter Bol will be one of three Australian hopefuls in the 800m final while Kurtis Marschall will look to make it three straight golds in the men’s pole vault.

Bleddyn marches on
Oliver Bleddyn finished fourth in the 10km heat, but with two dq’s he was already guarenteed a spot in the finals.
Five for Fife
Ellen Fife has picked up her fifth lawn bowl win on the greens, finishing her pool stage as the top competitor.
It went down to a tie break between her and Cook Island’s Emily Jim, but the Aussies class prevailed in the crucial moment.
Two in, one to go
After the first heat of the grueling men’s 10km cycling race two Aussies have qualified with Thomas Cornish and Blake Agnoletto doing just enough.
Sandgroper Oliver Bleddyn is the sole Aussie in the second heat, and looks to pace himself in the taxing event.
Denny goes better
It’s the half way mark of the discus final after each comeptitor had three cracks, and Matt Denny is still in gold medal position.
He bested his already top throw with a prodigeously long 67.32m chuck.
WINNER - Dixon!
The commentators had Dixon winning and the judges ended up agreeing!
The Aussie is the Bantamweight champion of the Commonwealth!
Round 3
Mandengbam comes out hot in the final round of the Bantamweight final but Dixon avoids the blows well.
Mandengbam does get a huge right in but Dixon takes it well on the chin.
The split scores in the first round are going to come back to hurt the Aussie who is struggling in a toe-to-toe fight.
He picked it up late and is the better boxer but Mandengbam was very good for the first two minutes.
Round 2 - Dixon
With the judges liking work over quality Dixon is going to need to lift his rate.
He boxed better in the first round but didn’t lay enough punches.
The Aussie’s timing is very good and shows promise for the future.
Mandengbam hasn’t done much in this round so hopefully that will get Dixon up on the scorecards.
Boxing Final Round 1 - split
The 21-year-old is going for gold against Indian J.S Mandengbam.
And he landed a good blow to the jaw as they skip around the ring.
Mandengbam keeps walking into the Aussie’s left hand and Dixon continues to pick him off for points.

Australia’s newest golden girl at these Games has been there once or twice before and knew exactly how to get the job done in the 10k walk.
Good start
Matt Denny launches his first throw 66.87 metres to lead the pack.
His throw was able to cut through some of the head wind which is causing chaos for everyone.
