Keegan Fortescue, Kurt Haunold join Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault coaching ranks, while Anthony Edwards stays

Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault has already locked in its coaching staff for the 2022 SWFL season. Women’s coach Anthony Edwards is the only coach to remain, with the league, reserves and colts sides all welcoming a new leader. The South Western Times reported last week former reserves coach Ryan Macintyre would take control of the league side. Macintyre won three premierships as reserves coach and Lions vice-president Tristan Maslin said the club was confident he could replicate his achievements at the top level. “He has been in our coaching ranks for five seasons and we thought his body of work, and what he has achieved, has earned him an opportunity at having a go with the league side,” Maslin said. “He has done very well with that reserves coach (role) and we are hoping he brings that professionalism and success with him.” HBL took to Facebook on Friday to announce Kurt Haunold would lead the colts from Derek Hall next year. The club said Haunold would bring a wealth of experience, having coached at numerous levels across the South West and Peel leagues. The Lions announced on Monday Keegan Fortescue would coach the reserves in 2022. Fortescue played at the club from juniors, running out in 132 league games and winning five reserves flags. HBL has welcomed back Anthony Edwards as the women’s coach for 2022, who will joined by new assistant Russel Hough.
