SWFL women’s 2022: Stars of Carey Park shine to down Dunsborough Sharks by 67 points at home
The stars of Carey Park shone at the weekend as they defeated Dunsborough by 67 points at home.
Key forwards Karinda Farrant and Kate Fielding kicked three goals each as the sixth-placed Panthers won 10.7 (67) to no score.
In front of a vocal home crowd, Carey Park tore apart the first year side in what was their seventh scoreless outing of the season.
There were still positive signs for the visitors, with Shelby Foster, Pania Kara and Suzi Scanlon giving it 100 per cent effort all day, alongside Katie Horrocks, Ariarn Huston and Kendall Smith.
But the experienced engine room of the Panthers, including Gemma Hill, Ebony Buck and Kandice Hart, proved too strong for the SWFL newcomers.
The match remained scoreless early in the first term before Carey Park began to make the most of the superb footballing conditions to lead by 25 at quarter time.
The home side got a stranglehold on the match in the second quarter, but kicked two goals and five behinds to lead 6.6 (42) to no score at the half.
More of the same continued in the second half with the Panthers taking the win to put themselves in sixth place.
