South West students from nine schools will be given a rare opportunity to learn from some of Australia’s top authors this week at a literature festival in Busselton.

Between the Lines will expand on a successful inaugural festival last year, with students invited to interact with nine authors over two days.

St Mary MacKillop College will host senior students from Georgiana Molloy Anglican School, Busselton Senior High School, Cape Naturaliste College, Nannup District High School, Bunbury Senior High School, Newton Moore Senior High School, Australind Senior High School and Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School.

Organiser Beth Herbert said the festival was designed to encourage students into the field of literature and help them work creatively.

“It’s about encouraging a love of reading and literature, ” Ms Herbert said.

Dianne Wolfer, James Foley and Sally Murphy are among the authors who will offer students insight into the world of writing and illustrating books.

Dymocks Busselton will hold a signing on Saturday with all the authors.
