Daniel Bridgeman charged with drug, weapon offences after TRG swarm Victoria Ave apartments, seize replica gun

A man has faced court on drug and weapon charges after police swarmed a CBD apartment complex following reports he was allegedly armed with a gun. Police said the tactical response group rushed to the apartments on Victoria Avenue “after a reported sighting of what appeared to be a firearm” about 12.30pm on Tuesday. Officers swarmed the address and allegedly secured an item, which was later revealed as a replica firearm. It is further alleged Daniel Bridgeman, 22, was in possession of approximately five grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Detectives have charged the man, from Heathridge, with three offences, which include carried or possessed a prohibited weapon, possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property and a possession of a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply offence. Police said there were no threats to public safety at the time of the incident. Mr Bridgeman was granted bail on Wednesday and will next appear in Perth Magistrates Court on July 18.
