The logjam for the final two positions in the Lower South West Football League’s final series continued at the weekend in round 12 as the reigning premiers Deanmill got their season back on track with a much needed win.
Playing the winless Boyup Brook at home, the Hawks simply had to win to ensure they remained in the hunt with five rounds to play and did so with a 25-point victory over the Roos.

The margin was closer than Deanmill liked with inaccurate kicking for goal costing them a percentage boost, but still got over the top with a 9.14 (68) to 6.7 (43) win.
The wet conditions made the contest a scrap, as Deanmill kept Boyup Brook at arms length all afternoon as neither side could get a clean run of play going.
Last years leading goal kicker Jordan Strahan booted three goals along with Blake East for Deanmill, while young gun Will Narducci was a lone warrior up forward with five majors for Boyup Brook.
Imperials had another close loss to Bridgetown for the second time in four rounds as the Bulldogs extend their streak to seven on the trot with a 20-point win.
Bridgetown went into half-time with a five-point lead but a strong third term of four goals to one set the tone for the second half, fighting off a late Imperials fightback to win 10.14 (74) to 8.6 (54) win.
Will Masters reinforced his position in second on the competition goal-kicking tally after kicking three for Bridgetown, now with 40 for the season.
Imperials forward Scott Gizzarelli led the way kicking three goals, sitting seventh in the league with 27 with his teammate Caine Milentis the next Magpie on the leaderboard with 13 goals in 20th position.

Tigers couldn’t capitalise on a strong first half off the bye against the undefeated Kojonup, eventually getting blown out of the water in a 104-point defeat.
The Tigers found themselves ahead at the first change by four points, then just nine behind at half-time.
But from there the Cougars kicked into gear and demolished the Tigers with 16 goals to one after the main break.
Competition spearhead Lee Lucev kicked his 26th goal in just three weeks with nine for the day for Kojonup, now at a mammoth 57 for the year after 10 games played.
Skipper Harry Taylor joined in on the fun with five while Matthew Marinoni and Kyle Smith both put through three for the Cougars.
All sides will have the bye this week for the country championships in Perth over the weekend.
